These stilts were created by me after several participants in
the Aerial Festival In
Boulder Colorado 2002 expressed frustration in their
attempt to find STILTS to purchase.
Having come from a car racing, and Hang Gliding background along with extensive
rigging and fabrication in Flying trapeze eqpt.. I decided to use this knowledge
to construct
some stilts for a friend of mine using the Race car frame and Hang
Gliding frame technology.
These stilts are based on the basic design from the instructor at the aerial
festival
But using more sophisticated materials and construction techniques.
The steel body is Chrome-molly
(same as used to build the race car rollcage )
The aluminum poles are 6061 T6,
1 1/8", .058 or (thicker depending on length) aircraft aluminum.
(same as used
as main structure that holds hang gliders open.)
All welding was done by a certified aircraft frame welder and fabricator.
Note! I am not a business, and, as a hobby, occasional make misc. equipment
just to help fellow participants in the aerial and circus activities.
I do not
have a business facility, name, bank account or ability to
accept credit cards (
other than PayPal.com )
Please see disclaimer at bottom of this page.
The stilts are partially custom.
I need 2 measurements:
1. Bottom of kneecap to floor while
wearing the above shoes)
2. Height that you want the stilts to
be. 24", 36" , 48" (the higher stilt peg, the thicker the
aluminum tube wall thickness )
You also need to send shoes for mounting on the stilts.
These can be relatively inexpensive
shoes since you won't be
spending all that much time in
them. Tennis shoes work well for this, See shoe in photo.
The stilts have 1 inch in adjustment on measurement #1
